Terms & Conditions for Hire of MACC Equipment

1.       Eligibility

  • Current financial members of the organisation may use the Equipment on open days or exclusively hire the  Equipment
  • Members must complete a safety induction prior to first use.
  • Users under the age of 18 must be always supervised by an approved adult.
  • The Equipment must not be used by individuals under 16 years of age.

2.       Experience Requirement

  • Members may operate the Equipment alone only if they can demonstrate relevant experience or training in using the
  • Proof of experience must be submitted and approved by the organisation.

3.       Rental Terms

  • The Equipment may be rented for a full day (up to 7 hours) by eligible members.
  • Rental must be booked in advance and is subject to availability.
  • A rental agreement form must be completed online & approved prior to use.
  • Members are responsible for returning the Equipment in clean and working condition.
  • Any damage or issues must be reported immediately.

4.       Rental Fees

  • The rental fees are outlined in our online rental registration form.
  • Payment must be made in full online prior to the rental period.

5.       Cancellations of rental

  • Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the booking will receive a full refund.
  • Cancellations made between 24 and 48 hours before the booking will receive a 50% refund.
  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the booking are non-refundable.
  • Members may request to reschedule a booking, provided the request is made at least 24 hours in advance.
  • No-shows without notice will forfeit the full rental fee.

6.       Insurance

  • Users are solely responsible for obtaining personal accident and liability insurance. The Organisation does not provide coverage for personal injury, property damage, or third-party claims arising from use of the equipment. Use of the Equipment is entirely at the user’s own risk.

7.       Duty of Care

  • Members must operate the Equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Safety gear must be used as appropriate.
  • The Equipment must not be used for commercial production without prior written approval.

8.       Liability Waiver

  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Organisation disclaims all liability for any injury, loss, or damage (including consequential or indirect loss) arising from the use of the
  • Users agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Organisation, its officers, and volunteers from any claims, demands, or legal actions resulting from their use of the equipment.

9.       Incident Reporting Requirement

  • Any injury, near-miss, or equipment malfunction must be reported to the Organisation immediately and documented in the incident log.

10.    User Responsibilities

Members who rent and use the equipment agree to the following responsibilities:

  • Follow all safety procedures as outlined during induction and posted near the equipment.
  • Use the equipment only for its intended purpose and within the limits of their training or experience. Inspect the equipment before use and report any damage, faults, or safety concerns immediately.
  • Clean and tidy the workspace after use, ensuring the equipment is returned in good condition.
  • Do not allow non-members or unapproved individuals to operate or be near the equipment during use.
  • Respect booking times and notify the organisation of any delays or changes.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required (e.g. gloves, goggles, dust masks).
  • Refrain from using the equipment under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication that may impair judgment.

11.    Failure to comply to these Terms & Conditions

Failure to comply with these Terms, & Conditions and responsibilities, may result in suspension of equipment access or membership privileges.
