Introduction to Gelli Printing Workshop
Gelli printing, or gel plate printing, is a form of mono-printing that uses a reusable, soft gelatine-like plate to create unique, layered images on paper. Acrylic paint is applied to the plate with a brayer & textures and designs can be created by pressing objects like leaves, stencils, or tools onto the surface, and then lift a print by pressing paper onto the plate to transfer the image.
This technique is accessible because it requires no special press, uses simple tools, and produces one-of-a-kind prints with each impression.
The workshop is designed for beginners and will look at the use of the gel plates, stencils and other found objects such as leaves.
Its a fun creative activity.
Prints can be used in collage, card making or other art mediums.
